Using grain protein maps to optimise nitrogen fertiliser to paddock-scale nitrogen variability (SAGIT co-funded)
Lead organisation: Trengove Consulting
Hub members and partners involved: South Australian Grain Industry Trust (SAGIT)
Project Category: Hub Projects
Project summary:

This project aims to increase the profitability derived from nitrogen (N) fertiliser applications by examining the relationships between: (a) soil mineral N pre-seeding with grain yield and protein maps from the previous season; and (b) historical grain yield and protein maps and the spatial variability of N response across paddocks in the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula. It will provide information towards the potential for protein maps to create variable rate N application maps.
