Welcome to the SA Drought Hub’s FDF Resources page! Here, we provide valuable tools and information to assist SA farmers and regional communities in making informed decisions and implementing practices that enhance drought preparedness and resilience. National Hub Network Map
Australia’s eight Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs were established in 2021 through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund (FDF), which provides secure, continuous funding for drought resilience initiatives.
The Future Drought Fund’s My Climate View (formerly Climate Services for Agriculture)
The Future Drought Fund’s My Climate View (formerly Climate Services for Agriculture) tool provides users with location-specific information on seasonal and monthly rainfall outlooks, and medium and longer term climate projections for rainfall and temperature.

FDF Regional Drought Resilience Planning (RDRP)

The RDRP program supports regionally based partnerships to develop drought resilience plans. These plans will identify and guide innovative ways to withstand future droughts, with a focus on agriculture and allied industries. Regional plans are led and owned by the community, developed through a co-design process. The partnerships are made up of regional organisations, local government, communities, and industry groups.

Get funded access to leading advisers who will deliver both on-farm support and group workshop learning to prepare you and your business to bounce back in the face of adverse climate and other challenges through the AgRi-Silience program.The program will help you and your staff

FDF Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative
The FDF Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative is delivered by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) and the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF). This initiative covers a number of programs including:
- Community Impact Grants through FRRR
- Small Network Grants through FRRR
- Leadership development in your region through ARLF
- National Mentoring Program (Drought Initiative) through ARLF

You can also receive the latest and up to date notifications about FDF and a wide range of other Grant opportunities and programs by subscribing to Grant Connect which is a centralised publication of forecast and current Australian Government grant opportunities and grants that have been awarded.
FRRR Expertise Pool
Funded by the Australian Government through the Future Drought Fund and delivered by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), the FRRR Expertise Pool is a vetted network of seasoned and highly-experienced consultants from around the country with a proven track record of working in collaboration with community organisations to achieve their mission and build their resilience.
The FRRR Expertise Pool is now open to all Australian-based community and social purpose organisations.

FDF Drought Resilience Innovation Grants awarded to SA Drought Hub partners (2022–2024)
Drought Resilience Innovation Grants, funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry through the FDF, support projects that help Australian farmers, and agricultural-dependent communities and businesses, adopt innovative approaches and technologies to improve drought resilience. Three grants help cater for projects and ideas at different stages of development:
- Ideas Grants providing $50,000 for 12 months to help develop good ideas
- Proof-of-Concept Grants providing up to $120,000 for 12 months to test the feasibility of innovative projects
- Innovation Grants providing between $300,000 and $1.1M per year for up to 3 years for mature ideas.

FDF Drought Resilient Soils and Landscapes Grants involving the SA Drought Hub (October 2022)
Over $23 million is being invested through the Future Drought Fund in 26 projects focusing on drought resilient land management practices that will help Australia’s farmers prepare for and recover more quickly from drought. This program aims to demonstrate practices at a broad scale that will make our agricultural land more resilient to future droughts.
