Yorke Peninsula Field days

The Yorke Peninsula Field Days are acknowledged as the oldest in Australia with the first trial held near Bute, SA, on July 31st 1895.​

The permanent site at Paskeville was established in 1975. Eight local branches of the Agricultural Bureau of SA form the organising body and their members are totally responsible for the management and organisation of this prestigious three-day event. These Bureaux are: Arthurton, Boors Plains, Bute, Cunliffe W.A.B., Moonta, Paskeville,  Petersville and the Arthurton Women’s Bureau. With a history spanning over 120 years this biennial event is now a multi-million dollar showcase of the latest innovations in agricultural machinery, products, rural services and technology and is acclaimed as one of Australia’s major agricultural Field Days. The Yorke Peninsula Field Days attracts up to 30,000 visitors during the three-day event.

Agriculture Focus:

With a major focus on agriculture, and the future, the event features extensive displays of the latest agricultural machinery and equipment, technology, information and services on a 30-hectare static display site area. The vast display provides an excellent one-stop opportunity to view and compare a comprehensive range of products designed for effective, efficient farming and rural practices.

Displays and demonstrations include: Cropping trials, Working Sheep Dogs, Wool and Sheep, Farm Machinery & Equipment, Tools and Accessories, Rural buildings and  Automotive.

General Interest:

The event offers a variety of displays designed and activities to be of interest to both rural and urban families. Displays and demonstrations include: Fashion Parades, Blacksmith and Lost Skills Association Demos, Working Sheep Dog Trials, Tractor Pull Demos, Childrens Track Quality Crafts, Family Products and Services, Guest Speaker Presentations, and Staged Entertaiment.
