Lead organisation: Ag Excellence Alliance
Project Category: Hub Projects
Project summary:

This project is lead by Ag Excellence Alliance and aims to support the Grower Group Executive Group Network to increase their capability to deliver drought resilient initiatives across South Australia.

It aligns with the SA Drought Hub Activity Work Plan to support the next generation of agricultural science, social science and technology experts, whilst also aligning with the SA Drought Hub Theme of upskilling advisers, researchers, and key influencers, and the associated theme priorities;

  • Provide researchers and advisers with the skills to engage growers and their communities in co-design of drought resilience initiatives.
  • Ensure that advisers and researchers have a good working knowledge of extension processes and practices to better engage the farming community in facilitated discussion about drought preparedness and the opportunities that are available

Project description:

This project focuses on supporting the grower groups that form the Ag Excellence Alliance network. They are the key farmer-led organisations consulted and engaged by the SA Drought Hub to deliver drought resilience initiatives across the state. These groups play a critical role in the development of sustainable and profitable broadacre farming practices through their strong relationships with RDC’s, research providers, State and Commonwealth government agencies, NRM regional organisations and industry.
