The SA Drought Hub is proud to congratulate Demi Taylor, the Hub’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, Learning & Adoption Officer, on her selection as one of 18 participants in this year’s Stepping into Leadership Program.
Sponsored by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) and delivered by WoTL (Women Together Learning), the program supports emerging leaders from regional communities to strengthen their leadership capability and influence across industry and beyond.
Over the next eight months, Demi and her fellow participants will take part in a comprehensive program featuring face-to-face professional development sessions, individual coaching, mentoring and interactive webinars. The initiative is designed to equip women with the confidence, skills and networks needed to step into leadership roles within agriculture and regional communities.
Hub Knowledge Broker Tony Randall says programs like Stepping into Leadership play a critical role in nurturing the next generation of leaders who will help drive innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth across South Australia’s primary industries.
“The SA Drought Hub recognises the importance of strong, capable leadership in building resilient farming systems and communities particularly in the face of drought and a changing climate.”
“The Hub also provides sponsorship to the program, which helps someone attend the course from a drought affected area.”
Since its inception more than a decade ago, the program has supported over 180 women to take on leadership roles across agriculture-related industries and their communities.
The program leaders report that this year’s cohort represents a broad cross-section of the sector, including livestock, grains, soils, education, horticulture, animal health, dairy, sales, quality assurance, communications, extension and research. Participants come from regions across the state, including the Barossa Valley, Murraylands and Riverland, Limestone Coast, Yorke Peninsula, Mid North, Eyre Peninsula and the Adelaide Hills.
